Experience the Christmas atmosphere on this 6 day tour to Germany & Luxembourg

Aachen's festively illuminated Christmas market is arranged around the cathedral - Germany's first UNESCO World Heritage site - and the historical town hall. Over 100 stalls in this lovingly decorated "Christmas town" on the market square offer everything your heart could desire. If you only sample one treat here, make sure it's the Printen, the city's famous gingerbread. Look forward to a wide range of festive entertainment including music ensembles at the weekend.

The City of Luxembourg and Luxembourg City Tourist Office's show "Winterlights," the festival of lights and animation that lights up the heart of the ancient city of Luxembourg in a magical, wonderful and romantic atmosphere with its Christmas markets, entertainment, exhibitions, shows and concerts.

To highlight the festive atmosphere at the end of the year, Luxembourg’s capital has been decorated with Christmas lights: more than 1,600m of lights with thousands of light bulbs now decorate the street lights, tree-lined streets and squares in the city

Luxembourg's multicultural markets boast a relaxed and European flavour, for example Stollen from Saxony and French Christmas log are all on sale side by side! Christmas carols in the Luxembourgish language (“An der grousser Hellger Nuecht”) will mix in with “Stille Nacht” in German, “White Christmas” in English and “Noël, Noël”.

The mixture of languages spoken defines the cosmopolitan nature of Luxembourg. Old and young alike will be delighted by the range of products on sale – handcrafted candles, heart-shaped gingerbread, toys, various Christmas tree decorations, greetings cards, CDs of Luxembourg Christmas carols and many charming gift ideas. And of course you can also try the tasty dishes and mulled wine (“Glühwein”) which are on offer.

Given its growing success the Christmas market ("Krëschtmaart") spreads out onto the Place de la Constitution, the former bastion of the fortress of Luxembourg overlooking the impressive 50- meter deep Pétrusse valley.

Where could you better get in the mood for Christmas than at one of the loveliest Christmas markets in Germany?

The enchanting Trier Christmas Market is held in the middle of Trier Old City on the medieval Main Market and on Cathedral Square in front of the imposing backdrop of Trier Cathedral. Both places are connected by the short Sternstrasse and are located in the pedestrian zone.

In the 95 festively decorated wooden booths you will find Christmas articles such as Christmas decorations, wooden toys, candles, hand-blown or engraved glassware, gift articles, ceramics and much more. Good food awaits you as well: bratwurst sausages, potato pancakes, sweets, hot tea and mulled wine.

Magical Maastricht is celebrating on a grand scale this year with plenty of holiday gifts. You'll find the biggest surprises on the Vrijthof square, where a huge ice skating rink, a Christmas market, a big wheel and more will provide plenty of Christmas cheer and wintry fun.

In fact, you'll find this magical holiday mood all over the city centre, where the squares, streets, and courtyards are filled to the brim with fun activities.
